More to come

On February 22nd, 2007 I visited again, following Jury selection of Robert Turenne to be one of the studios of Route des Arts 2007.  He is now working on new manipulations projects which involve a painting and computer projections using the techniques used for the project shown here.

6 Sept. 2006

This is the painting used for Manipulation III that won 1st prize at the Bina Allen Gallery of Concordia University in 2004.  An installation with a computer projector screened lights that change the painting to different hours of the day.

Robert also does large (4 ft) portraits in encaustic.  And paints architectural sites.  He paints from his own sketches.

Encaustic paintings.

Robert Turenne says: “The suggestion of the potential of movement!”

Robert Turenne draws from all aspects of modern Western culture lifestyle and brings it forth for the viewer to halt and contemplate.  He wishes to interact with the viewer, by integrating multimedia technologies, and creating installations that either transform via projection or show colour inversions in multipart paintings; depicting the real, the abstract or the imaginary, the painterly vs. the linear, movement rendered immobile, sports activities, and equipment or timeless monuments, and still life…. creating time lapses or freezing a moment in time.
