We went to Trois Rivières to see a Solo Exhibition of prints by Frederique.  The Exhibit's title was "À mot couverts" - a word play which does not lend itself for translation very well.  In essence the images are of place settings used for meals where people talk, yet do not really communicate (they don't reveal much).

These are some of Frederique's prints, done in various print techniques, at her Solo Show.

Frederique took the time to explain it all to Debbie Risborough.

Frederique still does Egg Tempera.

These are her paintings.  Frederique always depicted containers as metaphors for her ideas about people.

These are two of Marcel's paintings, St. Viateur famous bagel place.....

Fruit and veggies at Mile's End, where Marcel and Frederique lived in Montreal.  There were other paintings by Marcel, which I did not photograph too well.

Marcel now concentrates on writing.

After visiting the atelier Presse-papier, and Frederique Exhibition at Le Sabord, we walked around Trois Rivières.

I was really impressed by this town that boasts a concert hall, a symphonic orchestra, an annual poetry festival, a bi-annual printmakers festival, poetry and theatre clubs, a wonderful art magazine entitled Le Sabord, which features both poetry and visual arts, a wonderful print workshop named Presse-papier, and of course a University.

Marcel Dubé, Frederique (Guichard) Dubé with Debbie Risborough, my guest from England.

Frederique loves Tea Pots and has a lovely collection of them.

Frederique and Marcel only moved to Trois Rivières less than a year ago.  However, they found their place quite fast.  Frédèrique is a member of the Board of Directors of Presse-papier, and Marcel joined the board of Le Sabord.  Marcel also takes communication/writing courses at the University.

This is a silk-screened book that Frederique won a prize for.  I have put the text (also silk screened in one colour) separately.

Frederique also made a beautiful bound book cover for this collection of prints.  Only 4 sets were printed.

Frederique started off trying to look into her ancestry and somehow wondered off to Indian inspired images.

I shall try to translate this at a later date.

Colours and dimensions artwork may be slightly different from the original.
