On February 2oth, 2007 the jury selected Joan Scott to be one of the Route des Arts 2007 studios.

  Joan Scott, came on February 11th, 2006 with a few samples of her artwork.  Joan studied art illustration but moved on to pottery.  She is building a studio (made of 16-inch cord-wood) in Lakefield, where she plans to settle and continue creating art. 

Joan has been exhibiting in various craft shows in Ontario and Montreal.  She is also part of a group of artists who work at the Stewart Hall in Pointe Claire.  Joan's pottery is made with warm earthy glazes, some with intricate relief work, and some with subtle glaze colouring.  Her shapes and lines are curved and soft, at times quite symbolic.
