Edward Eklove working career was spent in Toronto as an executive.  He has always created lamps from anything that fell into his hands. After 27 years of absence, he decided to return home to Quebec.  About 6 years ago, he settled in Morin Heights in a charming spot by a cascading river, a lake, and beautiful grounds on which he built a lovely log-and-cement workshop to display his creations.  He simply fell in love with Laurentian stones.  Thus he began to make original candles, set in cavities drilled in stone.  The durable wick and paraffin oil, are inserted into a heat resistant holder.  Depending on the shape and texture of the stone, he makes candles of single or multiple lights, at times he adds an ornament such as a glass ball or rope handles.  The candles emit a pleasing ambience, and create beautiful reflections highlighting the stone surface and allowing subtle colours to emerge.
