Until March 5th, the museum exhibits
contemporary art that deals with saving the world and protecting our
senses.

Daniel
Corbeil presents
Laboratoire
Climatique: Nouvelle Expérimentations.
Corbeil, who graduated from UQAM as a
sculptor and photographer, combines both disciplines to create landscape
mock-ups, devices and even an imaginary flying machine that show us how
we cause harm to our planet. He does it with materials that are
sensitive to heat and moisture, ranging from melted chocolate, ice
cream, marshmallow, and egg yolks to cloth, lights, photographs and
drawings. Corbeil has exhibited extensively in Quebec, Ontario,
Denmark, France and Switzerland. His work was reviewed by notable art
critics in various art magazines. A catalogue with English text is
available. You may wish to call the museum at You can call the museum
at 450-432-7171 to find out when Daniel Corbeil will be creating a new
project in situ, it would be interesting to see the artist at work.
Nancy
Bourassa exhibits Conversations
Fluides. Bourassa is also a UQAM
graduate, and was the winner of the Laurentian young artists competition
2004. Bourassa does collage of photographs as transfers onto large
canvases covered with wet paint. She also combines it with text and
more layers of paint, creating interesting transparencies and movement.
Bourassa deals with her allergy to harmful agents in the air we breathe.
Hers is a very personal approach yet she creates and aesthetic quite
pleasant to look at, despite the sensitive subject.
