An exhibition of paintings by

Anne McLaughlin
entitled "Être et devenir"
starts May 2nd until May 20th
2004, at La Maison de la culture, 378 Main St., Lachute.

Anne says: "My work springs from my
inner world. I give expression to this awareness through abstract and
figurative forms, illustrated for the most part by the use of vivid colours.
I am interested in metaphysics and my themes deal with the interaction
between man and his universe, as well as expressing the consciousness of the
environment we live in."
Anne studied at the Saidye Bronfman School
of Fine Arts and received a BA in fine arts from Concordia University. She
has also received several awards for her artwork. This is Annes first Solo
exhibition in Lachute.

Annes canvases are rich in colour and
content. This exhibit includes creations such as Harmonie
Céleste, Beauté Ternie par l'indifférence and Migration.
Anne draws our attention to the importance of saving ecological balance,
and urges us to see the part we play in it. Anne paints with a striking, yet
harmonious palette and incorporates collage into some of
her paintings. If you have not visited this studio last year, you will
have the opportunity during Route des Arts 2004.
